The challenge for the limelight IT team was to cover all of the major aspects of the industry, which are man, material, and machine. And to create a solution that monitors the mill operator, other employees, inventory, production, and rolling mill machines. Finally, all of the collected informative data was to be displayed in a single dashboard capable of representing the entire data set in an understandable format and providing live data without any delays.
Description of the solution
Limelight IT provided three different types of hardware to monitor all of the parameters. Smart ID cards were provided for staff and operator monitoring, RFID tags and readers were provided for inventory monitoring, and an IoT Gateway was interfaced with Marudhar Industry Plc Setup for production monitoring. All of the hardware was linked to the Limelight IT Server, which performed the calculations and displayed the data via the Marudhar Industry Dashboard.
Business impact
The Limelight IT implemented Solution provided different benefits to Marudhar Industry.The industry overall breakdowns are reduced by 15 to 25% resulting in 15 to 20% % increase in production in same time as before, cost of maintenance has also been reduced by 20%. The cost of deployment was approximately INR 10 lakh and it took around 6 months for the deployment of the solution.
